A superman and spiderman program, that's some serious action we got here! ;-) My phone also has an option to select a COM port during connection with my USB cable, i found some drivers for it and are not giving me an error, although, I am unable to flash my phone with either flashtools or "spiderman" Can you do me a favour and tell me what driver provider you have and version? Thanks:-) |

| My fault. I meant I used Spiderman. I had just set Spedeman to com 1 and 115200. I het connect and it tells me to to press the on/off key. Once I press it for a few swconds it begins to flash my phone. |

| I do not use a driver. I choose com port1. It goes out the 9 pin serial port into my P168+ and connects to it. Just the same as when I configure a Cisco Router, Switch or Access Point at work. |

| Yeah I got the drivers for USB from a POST a while back but I do not have them installed. I have tried to have Phone Tools work via USB. But I removed the drivers and have not used them since. |

Stealthius, your phone had the three options when you bought it? What model and build date is it? Do you know the hdwr and sw versions? _________________ remember the ultimate answer is "42"

Ohh, guess i must have misunderstood it all, i was following the post, and understood that you did all this with your USB cable, but now it seems you are using a serial cable?

So, you flashed your phone with a serial cable then?
Guess I will give up trying to do it with USB then, even though i read that indeed a serial cable was needed, you gave me some hope trying....lol |

| Yeah, I think because you need to power the phone on and off and such that you can't switch on the USB COM port on the phone and keep it working... so the serial cable is the only way to do it. |

I found another firmware uploaded by someone on gsmhosting and with that firmware now the menus are like like p168c. thanks |
VIRDRI
