PostSubject: movies...no go   Sun Jan 11, 2009 6:09 am

Hi gang. I tried the download and to convert per the tutorial. the download wouldn't work at all...timed out. movies converted with Super per forum faq did everything right til play was pressed...then"invalid file"
I tried conversion per instructions and did both mpeg4 and 3gp...they show up in file but only give "invalid file"
I did search forum for last 2 days...mp3 music is fine and plays
Phone is i9+, 8mb card.
Any idea's???

Hi all...a little further info on the "invalid file" problem: I found a small download in 3gp format and loaded it...it worked just fine! It must be the settings I'm using for the converter (Prism) Does anyone have a clue as to the settings for conversion for the cect i9 phone?

While I do appreciate your stock answer I think you should check your reference. I read the post and followed the directions but these things have changed: the phone is not the c168 it is the i9, the software is now v 2009 build 35 , jan 2009...I am using this version and settings as close to the post as possible but the fields are NOT the same any more. I realize I am a newbie here but you must realize that us new folks sometimes really try to follow directions and study so as not to look too stupid and still fail from lack of knowledge...we depend on the folks with experience to guide us straight and appreciate the effort but dislike being led wrong as much as you dislike answering the same question so many times. Please help if you can and understand I really do appreciate it.

PostSubject: i9/sciphone i68 video help   Sun Jan 11, 2009 11:54 pm

Hi gang, after some experimenting with a few (many!) methods of
getting video into the i9/sciphone i68 I found the following to work:
Download the Super converter

http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

install prism converter
open converter---click "add file" button--find and add your video
file.
***here I suggest you add a folder to your desktop with the label
"your phone" (in my case : i9 files)---within this folder make new
folders with labels: video, images, music, files...whatever else
you need.***
now back to the converter: 3 buttons along the lower left:
output format: (make this .3gp)
encoder options: settings: compressor...mpeg4
average bitrate...128
max bitrate...256
resolution...leave as is

audio
compressor...AAC
bitrate...64
edit output: settings: check "resize video" box
check "shrink or enlarge video" box
width:176
height...144
check " change framerate" box
framerate...10.00
ok button

***make sure you have selected your (phone) folder from the destop
as the destination...and in this case the video folder therein***

convert button

when finished transfer the file to the video folder on your phone and
away you go! ( I open two folders: the i9 phone folder on my desktop...
video folder and then: my computer-phone memory card (with phone
connected by usb)...video file) then drag and drop from desktop to mem card

***these settings worked with at least 3 converters (avs video converter,
ultra mobile 3gp video converter, prism video converter)...
I used "magic dvd ripper" to take video from dvd's , files on my computer
most were stored as mpeg or avi...then converted.

I hope this will assist anyone having problems with video or new to some phone
like the i9/sciphone i68...I'm told it also worked for 168 types.
Good Luck

You are welcome...believe me you and the others here before me helped a ton with your previous posts and help files...I really did appreciate all of them...they made getting this new phone almost painless...again believe me the video problem was just a tiny part of setting up this phone ( it came without any instructions of any sort) all was tried and learned(???)...lol , from this forum. My thanks to the forum members!
