| that is normal. you need to find out what buad rate works with your phone.i have flashed my phone about 50 times and every time the buadrate was diffrent.try diffrent speeds.i have gone as slow as 115200 to as fast as 921600.i would start at the 115200 first and if that dosent work try the next speed.do you have a msn messanger we can talk on? _________________ HARDWARE VER:HGY718_M6225_V1.0 SOFTEARE VER:YG718-03-SIV100B-NOLOGO- EN12-BTNO-900-V004 FLASH TYPE:S71PL127NC0: BUILD TIME:2007/11/29 18:25 BUILD AUTHOR: WANGZHIJUN also own sciphone i68 with javquisoft firmware 3.0 and my iphone 3G

| dont have messenger.... I have tried the different baud rate. I am very familiar with the different step in flashing..... the funny thing is if the MTK tools connects and reads and flashes without error. why is my phone not turning on. my P168C never had these issues when i flashed many times... i will try a few more times..... and try again tomorrow..... i have been at this for 4 hours now. ready to throw this out the door. |

| i dont know about frying the phone. i have tried flashing every thing on my phone( all the firms here and the i9 forum , openmoko , android and other i68 firms and flashing my original firmware alway's worked for me. is there something you might have missed? can you post a screen shot of spiderman? mabe i see something you might not ( mom always said 2 eyes is better than one) and to this date mom has been good (she is dead now but i remember) iam glad you are a mod. i dont feel like i might violate trying to help out. also are you the same guy asking for the firmware on the i9 web site about downloading firmware 3.0 from javquisoft? just to let you know i have 2 sciphone's aND 1 P168+ and the firm works on the one the serial # is made for and the other phone's it wont work for.it has something to do with the hardware. i have made another firm work on both phones but it was older and a hell of a lot slower. none of the firmwares on the i9 forum work for me.they either dont boot or boot to a white screen. let me know whats up. i hope i can help _________________ HARDWARE VER:HGY718_M6225_V1.0 SOFTEARE VER:YG718-03-SIV100B-NOLOGO- EN12-BTNO-900-V004 FLASH TYPE:S71PL127NC0: BUILD TIME:2007/11/29 18:25 BUILD AUTHOR: WANGZHIJUN also own sciphone i68 with javquisoft firmware 3.0 and my iphone 3G

| I use MTK flashtools to readbck but only spiderman to flash. It works best that way on the i9. I have a backup of your firmware and will even flash it for you if it's a cable issue. The only way you fried your phone if it it is the wrong cable. Possably sent some juce to a place that it shouldn't go like the motherboard. __________________ Mike |

| well you know the story LOOK HERE>>> http://www.i9forum.co.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2094 i was sent the wrong cable. Yesterday, i received the new replacement cable that does not turn the phone on when plugging in. So i flashed my i9 with this firmware http://www.i9forum.co.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=1762mtk tools worked fine, gave me the green circle and when i tried to turn the phone on it didnt. i tried taking the batter out letting it sit... all the trouble shooting i tried. so thats my dilemma ......... hey Mike I sent you an email.... ADDED OK I am more confused then ever. I just looked at the pin configuration on the replacement cable. Its different. I am pissed.
I need to know what is the true cable pinout for this i9 (color dial numbers) If this cable fried my Phone then the seller needs to replace my phone!!!!!! I am streaming mad right now...........This is the error i get when using spiderman\ |

| UPDATE:................................................................................................................................... ...................................................................................................................... SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The issue at least for me was I decided to move my operations to my old XP laptop. I figured VISTA could be a problem Loaded up Spiderman 2.46 and the Original Firmware ( thanks mike ) after 3 attempts I finally got a solid BAUD COM rate at the BPS 155200 Held down the power button on the phone and it started... the red line loading the 2 boot records then the blue % line began. after 100% the i9 started right up. I tell you..... using Windows XP when flashing is essential. This happened to me also for my P168C when flashing. I have to say this. that I still do not believe there is a solid factual pinout for these phones. | Quote: | | You will have either 1,8,9,10, gap, gap, end of plug or 1,9,10,11, gap, end of plug | <<<<<<< i believe this to be complete BS. there is nothing concrete to support this.
As i mention. This i9 I have is the colored dial motherboard. I have yet to see a solid YES for the actual PINOUT for the correct Flash cable.
my flash cable has this pinout 1,4,5,11,12 |
