M88 Phone Thread

Hey guys, you will have noticed that your admin has been away for awhile. Both bryce and myself have just gotten into our holidays so we will be spending a lot more time around the site and spending well needed time doing some maintenance work. This site has certainly grown since it's debut last year, and we look forward to seeing it continue to grow over the years.

We have posted a mini-forum for any other CECT phone models, we will make the consideration of making the CECT P168 Forum a CECT forum, but not in the near future, So all other CECT phone users, go check it out!

With the number of members rapidly increasing, we have decided to put a rules section on the forum, it is located here.

Hi, im new in this comunity, i have th M88 and i need to say, is the best phone i ever seen, but i got a problem, i want install iFonz, because the one wich brings the phone is so poor! but when i try to install iFonz 0.9.9 said me cannot be installed Sad

and is safe to overclock de phone to 220Mhz?, an other thing, i have CorePlayer that is the commercial version of TCMP, but run slow with a Xvid avi video (700x390) Sad

Hola,

Some people have had good luck overclocking to 220 but most phones crash and need a hard reset at 212 to 215. Be carfull. its a lot of phone (expensive) to brick.

Thanks Big, how is the process to do a hard reset? , jeje, i was thinking, not overclock it, only resize the video to a more low resolution and then enter to the pda, the thing is that i need to re encode the Xvid file lol. but... is best than convert a video to 3gp xddd, ehy bigmac, i got it! for people that dont like the iphone menu wich the phone brings, use Ifonz 1.1.2 is the unique that runs (for me), theres an other ebook reader with best (zoom and dynamic)? and a S2V (with zoom lol, is the unique fault that have this imgviewer)?

Thanks i'll add that to my collection. I just bought a pack of screen savers from Walmart and cut them to fit.

hey i was wondering how to get ringtones on this m88 phone and all that great stuff?

seems to tell me that the phone doesn't have a program set to use the
stuff when i download them

I got my M88 2 weeks ago. I can't watch youtube on my phone . Do I need to download anything? I also tried to watch movie in MP4 format but look like window media doesn't support it. Help me please.

As covered before you have to install a plug in for Windows mobile that will allow you to view youtube and other streaming video.

Has any one tried TCPMP media player I here its very good. Then you can add the plig in for flash.

I have never been to happy with Windows media and would like to find a good media player for my M88.

What I have is a youtube plug in for windows mobile devices. Got it from a freeware site but can't remember the site. But if you do a dogpile search i'm sure you will come accross it after a few days of looking through the freeware sites.
