M89 screen not working and other problems

Hey guys, you will have noticed that your admin has been away for awhile. Both bryce and myself have just gotten into our holidays so we will be spending a lot more time around the site and spending well needed time doing some maintenance work. This site has certainly grown since it's debut last year, and we look forward to seeing it continue to grow over the years.

Hi there,
I have just purchased an M89 mobile and am having some problems with it.

Firstly, within a day of use the touch screen sensor totally malfunctioned. I could not use the phone as it would not respond to the touch screen. Therefore i sent it to back to where i bought it from, and he said it could be caused because of a GPS software i installed on the phone off the net. I'm not sure what he did, but he sent it back and it was fine.

Now again when i got it back, within a day of use, the phone malfunctions again. I was on a call, i ended it and the phone froze....So i left it for a bit see if it would unfreeze itself, but it didnt. So then i preset the little reset button the top of the phone, and the phone just turns off!! Now it won't work at all. Won't turn on or anything, its as if its completely useless. However if i plug it into the charger, it will charge {but still not turn on, just the green and red light will be on on the charging adapter}. When i plug it into the computer, it does NOT respond at all...
PS: I have not installed any programs from the net once i got the phone, i only put some photos and music onto it. Therefore it cannot be my software corrupting the phone.

I really like this phone, but am getting very disappointed with its malfunctioning.
Does anybody know what i can do to fix my latest problem of phone not turning on? Is there some sort of master reset i can do? Ive pressed the reset button, power button, and home button all at the same time {because i heard that is master reset}, but it still doesnt do anything...

Any ideas on what i can do? Id rather do it myself, then to send it back to seller and waste time and money.

I've run into similar problems. I suspected the S2U2 software (which comes as 0.99 - it's past version 2.00 now), so I removed the old files and installed the new. At some point, syncing with ActiveSync became a problem - so I had to hardreset the phone. (and install the SDHC driver to recognize the SD card). that seems to keep the phone more stable than before.

In your case you should try disabling the power off settings to prevent the phone from shutting down. (and just use the backlight settings to save power).

My problem now is I can't reliably receive phone calls.... thats for a different thread.
