| Hi, i just got the KA08 phone, it is cute, and a little confusing on how everything works, i cant get picture ID to work even though I went through the steps and saved the pictures to the numbers?? but more bothersome than that, is the Handwriting feature, i thought it was going to be fun to use.... When sending an SMS text, it defaults to the Keyboard. If i try to write, it will let me draw the letter but then it just disappears? and does not put it in the message?? can someone please please help? heck, i have watched several videos and none have had the steps to do this? thank you, bubbles |

| then, why does it have the place for you to be able to "draw" a letter? and in the ad, it says it does have handwriting recognition? is that just not true? thank you |

| it seems that it is just not true. many people have similar problems to us with the handwriting, and this is the conclusion that they have come to. one person said something very ambiguous about it sometimes working and sometimes not. i don't know how many phones he's looked at in which the handwriting HAS worked. maybe i should ask him. but i definitely have my doubts. maybe it depends on the vendor. the capability definitely is disabled or doesn't exist on mine, despite the drawn character existing for a second or two, as with you |

| I think it depends what firmware you have or what version you have. Try going to input method and look for SmartABC or Smartabc. Some people can get the writing to work some can't. To find out version try dialing this code exactly *#8375# |

(that was not yelling, just highlighting the burning question) there are many changes that should be made, such as to activate the shortcut keys, to name only one. these actually don't exist now. |

No problem 5_10Hz. Well up to this moment, I have seen so far, there is no way to update or change firmware. The CECT KA08 Mini phone is still farely new and waiting to be hacked. Keep your eyes peeled... I will soon post firmware updates if i spot one. |

| hi there i got a new firmware for the phone but dont know how to change it and do backup of old firmware can anyone say how to would be nice  i can also send firmware to ppl or upload it |

| H2D2 yep i'd say your firmware is newer. does it have handwriting recognition to save and send stuff you write? Peidof, great, thanks for the offer. now we just need some expert to tell us how and with what cables etc |

| I have KA08 with ZZT.G580P11.1.0_MB01 and it still has the problem with handwriting feature. I'd be curious to find out which version of firmware Peidof has. I've seen a eBay posting for KA08 firmware cable but the seller wasn't offering the firmware to go along with it.  |
