I am away in DC and my P168+ was not working with my USB cable and I fried mysecond battery on a used P168+ I bought for 40 bucks. So I was unable to charge my phone and use it at the same time. This got old. So I called the Apple store and they said I had to practically donate an organ to get a brand new iPhone. So today I looked on craigslist and found an unlocked iPhone 2G that had some cosmetic damages but works perfect for $150. I went to a site figured how to pop my sim in and was making my first call in minutes. Setting up the internet was not that easy. I had to buy a 24 hour wireless account at my hotel so that I could get the iPhone on the web to download the files I needed to hack the T-mobile internet settings. Once I got on the web I was able to install the files I needed and now everything works perfect using my T-mobile unlimited account.
Sorry if I bored you to death with all of that.
p168+ paid $100 for it
iPhone 2G 8 Gig paid $150 for it
I like the lighter weight of the P168+ better than the much heavier Iphone.
I put my p168+ in my pocket and it never got a scratch or anything. The iPhone also fits in my pocket too I just worry about it more but it seems to do ok.
The iPhone has a better display I can see it from the side where as the P168+ I had to hold it straight up to see it.
The Iphone seems easier for me to navigate but the P168+ is still pretty good too.
If the P168+ had java support, wifi, an internal audio jack and more standardized usb port I would definitely like it better and would not have needed to get an I phone.
So anyway I still own the P168+ and will look for ways to make it better and who knows maybe sell the iPhone.
Also these are some things to consider
the iPhone also has built in speakers a camera and is compatible with loads of devices but is hard to get at a reasonable price.
