p168s first impressions

Hey guys, you will have noticed that your admin has been away for awhile. Both bryce and myself have just gotten into our holidays so we will be spending a lot more time around the site and spending well needed time doing some maintenance work. This site has certainly grown since it's debut last year, and we look forward to seeing it continue to grow over the years.

Hi all , just got both the P168c and the P168 i9 (java). Although the i9 has shake and tilt, more icons, and addable java programs, I personally think the 168c is a better phone. The speakers are totally AWESOME, you can navigate by touch screen OR buttons on the side OR the main on/off toggle button. i9 u can only navigate by touch screen. The 168c is built much more sturdy than my i9. Its a lil heavier but feels better in hand. the 168c can use GIF's as a wallpaper where the i9 cant (no motion). My i9 is almost an exact replica of the 1st generation iphone(tad bit larger and iphone plastic cases wont fit it). They both can use the video program in this forum and play movies great. The 168c has a larger keypad to text on but i do beleive there is firmware for the i9 in its forum for a larger keypad.

If you want a great phone with a kick butt sound system, gif walls, well built and easy to navigate, then get the 168c.

If you want an iCLONE with shake and tilt, more apps, and the option to download apps, then the P168+i9 is it.

I'll take the 168c over the 168+i9 sci phone any day.

hi all, just got my P168c. awesome phone. love the speakers. internet and mms all set up and works great. size of incomming mms pics is a bummer, but just tell your friends to re-size before they send em to 50kb. dual sim is awesome for those of us that lead double lives...lol. love the phone, hate the HEAVY IPHONE and the fee that goes with it, this phone kicks butt. I have the I9 coming in the mail soon, java supported and shake and tilt, we'll see how that one is, but this one i'm very happy with Smile

The phone is alright for what it's supposed to be - and for the price an iPhone it ain't - but then again nobody said it was. Try taking a picture/photo outside in the sun and let me know how you go.

I've just received my new p168s a couple of days ago - so this is more first impressions than a review Wink

First I've seen elsewhere that this phone doesn't work on the O2 network - I can confirm it works on O2, Vodafone and Orange (all UK) although for some strange reason I didn't try 2 sims at once scratch
