THE BEST VIDEO METHOD FOR P168!!

Hey guys, you will have noticed that your admin has been away for awhile. Both bryce and myself have just gotten into our holidays so we will be spending a lot more time around the site and spending well needed time doing some maintenance work. This site has certainly grown since it's debut last year, and we look forward to seeing it continue to grow over the years.

It's the Micro SD card that's by your battery. And you probobly got a small one under 2GB but you can upgrade to at least 8GB and with some phones 16GB.

the problem with the awesome link to download movies to your phone is that now its a .35 version and not the .32 version on the link that you have listed. So the screen isnt the same and u can't change any of the stuff that you have changed. I'm totally confused. Also, someone in here said that you can put mpg4 movie files into the video folder and they can watch the movies just fine, but I tried that and it didn't work for me. I have a i68+ phone.

I have the .35 build as well and its really not that different. The only major difference is that the You need to select the '3gp/3g2(Sony Ericsson)' option from the output container drop down.. And when you go to encode a popup box will come up asking whether you want to encode in 3gp or 3g2 format.. Select 3gp format.. I have never been able to get mp4's to play either though.. I suspect that like some other devices they only play 3gp format but will play a file with the mp4 extension if its in the 3gp format because 3gp is actually stripped down mp4. So in reality a 3gp is a sub-type of mp4.

On another note, I saw an option in engineering mode to switch 'Video Bitrate High' on and turned it on for my p168c. I do not know exactly what it does but to test some things today I have been converting some youtube clips at higher and higher settings to see how high I can set them..

So far I have set the resoutlion to 320x240,its the resolution of the screen so I was using that before anyways.. .but I also have the framerate at 25fps and the bitrate at 288 kbps and the phone plays the video clips without a problem.

A couple of notes:
1. the phones won't play a video with a framerate set higher then 25
2. the higher you set the bitrate the slower the video plays and higher chance the video/audio will become out of sync. These players don't seem to have a mechinism programmed in to adjust the playback to attempt to keep them in sync.

Hi everybody,

I also work with Super and can watch all of my movies on the CECT p168 C+.
But the video quality is a little bit shocky and the resolution isn't that good.
I've tried some different settings, but then the sound and video don't synchronize.

Does anybody know how to get a better screen quality. Is this a firmware thing?

I have the new sciphone but do not know what model they call it as it was only released mid this year. Learnt a lot from this thread about vids and convert to 3gp format. I read somewhere you can get mobile phone versions of realplayer and so forth but too technical for me. Is there a site for 3gp downloads and the like so I don't have to mess about, ones that people on here recommend as having produced a good result, if you understand what I mean.
